The gong sound comes from a 32" paiste brilliant gong played by jens zygar in the former red house studio in gelsenkirchen recorded by christian wagner.

Recording of a 28 inch subatomic gong where the sound reverberates in a 22 foot by 11 foot room (same ratio as the kings chamber in the great pyramid). Time between gong hits are allowed to let the sound resonate through the room.

Cool effect made by dragging a rubber tipped mallet across the gong, instead of striking it. Creates a soft eerie atmosphere. Gear: 2x akg 451eb,2x rdl stm-2, casio da-1 dat.

A kick with a low rumble behind it, so its like hitting a massive kick-gong.

Knocking a pan lid producing a long sustain. Rotating the lid around the mic produced some interesting modulations.

A tuned chau gong from my personal collection. I made these samples long ago and only did one take per gong. So, these sounds are a bit rough, but that should do well to suit the kinds of music that would use these gongs. I have tried loading single samples from this set (especially #4) across an entire keyboard, and playing that one sample as if it were the whole set, and that has worked out well. So, if one of the gongs crashes too much or decays too quickly for your liking, it should be trivial to replace that sound with another, pitch-shifted one.

I combined 2 sounds. One sound is always the same till the end and the other sound is separated in three times: one is lower, the other one louder and again lower, but still the same sound. To finish the sound i put a gong sound to show that is finish.
